So…I guess I’m a Swifty now.

Two months ago, I probably wouldn’t have been able to name you any Taylor Swift songs off the top of my head. I also had no idea who Travis Kelce was.

As a Wisconsonite, my football fandom was with the Green Bay Packers, though in recent years I hadn’t really followed them either…or Pro Football in general.

So…why, suddenly, am I listening to Taylor Swift songs daily and rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs?

It’s the story!

Like a great romance novel, the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce story unfolded chapter by chapter over the course of the past few months. “Were they?” “Was it all for PR?” The questions and answers seeped out daily in a wonderful and romantic trickle that kept people glued to their news-feeds or TikTok yurning for the next droplet of info on the famous couple.

And I love a good romance.

I also love Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance…but I digress.

Anyway, in the current news cycle of war, politics, and overall bad news, it is so refreshing to find an uplifting story to follow. Something to take my mind away from all the crap happening in the world. So, yeah, I’m all in. and I’m discovering some great music along the way.

I particularly love Anti-Hero and Shake It Off, but my all time favorite so far is Love Story. As an author, this song really speaks to me.
